2013-05-19 -- Forgot Your Login and Password?

There is now a password recovery function at For Members->Forgot My Login. Enter your email address and the site will send an email with the information to the email address we have on file. This assumes that you can remember which email address you gave us. Failing that, you can always drop a note on About Us->Contact Us.

2013-05-04 -- RSS News Feed Added for Members-Only Blog

The Members-Only Blog now has an active RSS Feed. The addition of RSS feeds is in response to requests that emails be sent when new items are posted. Since the practice of mass emailing does not scale well, RSS feeds have been added to the same end. You may subscribe to the new feeds with most browsers, some email clients and a number of specialty RSS Feed Reader programs to keep in touch with the latest posts.

The News Section of this site is now available via RSS. Click on the orange RSS button on the home page to subcribe. A similar RSS feed for the members only blog will be available shortly.

2013-05-02 -- New Section Added

A new section has been added for locally hosted videos (Gallery->Locally-Hosted Video). This is a place where videos that are typically considered too long or too boring for the non-rotorcraft-enthusiast or just not up the the quality typically seen on the "Tube" sites will be posted. I'll start things off with some of the old videos I used to store on my home server. *JC*

Gary sent me some shots of Bo Collins' new single-place gyroplane build. It is an interesting one-of-a-kind type, using some of the best parts of a variety of popular designs. The pictures are posted in Gallery->Our Projects. Take a look!

2013-04-27 -- New blood

I've seen some recent comments referring to "new blood" in the club. Well I'm offering some of mine. I've already begun my lessons with Larry Banks and plan to pick up my Gyrobee in SC in mid May and plan to begin attending club functions when time allows. Really looking forward to it!

2013-03-31 -- Peachstate Bensen Days Caravan

Jon, Gerald, Mark and myself will be meeting at 278(Thornton Rd)@ I-20 Wednesday morning about 6:15 - 6:30 if anyone would like to meet there or at a designated location along the way on 75 South. We will be following each other to Wauchula and welcome others to follow along. Contact Jon if you would like to join us.

2013-03-20 -- Thrust Test Data Sheet

There will be thrust test apparatus at Bensen Days this year. Greg Mills has prepared this handy PDF document for you to download and present at the event if you are interested in getting a thrust test measurement for your machine. You should fill it out and print it BEFORE you go to Bensen Days.

2013-02-03 -- Bensen Days Reservations Way Ahead of the Norm

Campsite reservations and advanced registration for Bensen Days Fly-In 2013 (Wauchula, Florida April 3-6) are well ahead of schedule this year. All the powered sites were gone before February 1. Normally, this does not happen until near the end of March. This, even before the announcement of Marion Springer's attendance. One can only suppose that this will be a banner year for the event.

2013-01-27 -- In Case You Haven't Already Heard...

Marion Springer, author of "Born Free -- My life in Gyrocopters," long-time aviation enthusiast and CFI will be traveling from California to join us in Florida at the Bensen Days fly-in this year. For more information on Bensen Days click here.

2013-01-14 -- Bensen Days Site

Bensen Days registration is up and running HERE. The bensendays.com URL also works now. It may be a while before Google figures that out, but the site is working. Almost half of the powered campsites are already gone. If you plan to go and need power. Now would be a good time to register.

I plan to go out to the hangar Saturday morning around 9:00AM for a while. It might be a bit nippy for open machine flying, but I have some mechanical work to keep me busy. Company is welcome. -- Jon Carleton

2013-01-01 -- Change in Bensen Days Dates for 2013

Bensen Days (Yearly Wauchula, Florida gyroplane event) has changed the dates for this year's event to April 3-6, 2013.

2012-12-23 -- Hey! What happened to the....

Some of the menu options have been changed in preparation for site improvements. Specifically, the pictures of Projects and Aircraft that were in "About Us" are now in "Gallery." The changes are primarily related to where things are on the menu, though I did add a little content while I was at it.

2012-12-07 -- Saturday Flying

We are going to the Cedartown airport tomorrow Sat. 12-8-12 for a little flying and hanger hangin' out. Plan to be there about noon to give the temp. a chance climb a little. If you are really bored, come out and hang out for a while.

2012-11-29 -- New Lunch Venue for Meeting

Due to popular demand (mostly demanding we don't go back to our previous regular restaurant until they do something about their poor Health Department Certificate standings), we will be lunching this meeting at Troy's BBQ in Rome, GA. We will meet there at 12:00 EST noon for lunch and our December meeting. That's THIS Saturday, December 1, 2012. Troy's is at 1024 N. Broad Street in Rome, GA 30161. 2012-11-06 -- Friday Flyin' - Part II

Friday looks like another beautiful day for flyin. Trell and I are planning to go to the Cedartown airport Friday (11/9) about 1pm . Ya'll come on out and join us!

2012-10-25 -- Friday Flyin'

Goin' to the airport for some Friday flyin' tomorrow (10-26-12). Trell is supposed to leave work early and join me. Try to fly some Fri. & Sat. before the ugly weather gets here. Supposed to be COLD and WINDY most of next week. If ya' got some Friday free time, come on out and join us about 2 or 2:30.

2012-10-25 -- Cedartown Hangar This Saturday! (before the cold weather)

We've been lucky weather-wise so far this year, but I think that may be coming to an end after this weekend for a bit. Saturday should be a pleasant day and "the usual suspects" should be around for some flying and hangar chat. Come join us! Hangar H-5 at Cedartown (4A4) Airport (Polk County -- Moore Airfield). We should arrive shortly after sunrise and hang around until just before lunchtime.

Trell and I plan to go to the airport Saturday (10-20-12) for a little flying n' stuff. We plan to be there early, 7:30 ish. Trell has been around the pattern on two occasions and really has the itch to get some seat time. It has been two weeks since he has been up. My blades were not installed after returning from Wrens so I could do a little polishing. I will try to get that done Saturday. Ya'll come on out and join us.

It sneaked up on me and on some others I have talked with. Wrens is THIS COMING WEEKEND! A bit earlier than usual. I believe Gary might go and I am thinking about it. Very likely going to be a ghost town at Cedartown this Saturday. Greg is going. Anyone else??

This has nothing to do with .com, just a few of us yahoos will be at the airport Saturday AM for a little flying, wrenching, hanger chatter, etc. Any of you Yahoos that would like to join us are more than welcome! Steve McGowan is over at Bud's this weekend for Hanna's 16th birthday so I tried to get him to stop by on his way home but he is a busy guy. Anyway, tell your wife you will do those chores later and come on out and join us.

2012-09-12 -- Gathering at Cedartown Hangar This Saturday (September 15)

We expect an early morning (7:00AM +/-) this Saturday at the Cedartown (4A4) hangar. It should be beautiful weather and Trell wants to get some runway time before the meat bombs begin operations. Gary also plans to be there and fly around. Lewis said he will come if his schedule permits. It should be a good morning. Guests are welcome!

I plan to work on my Subaru Engine overhaul some more this Saturday morning at the hangar at Cedartown (4A4). There is a good chance some other folks will join me and perhaps put some gyros in the air. All are welcome. -- JC

2012-08-08 -- This Saturday at Piedmont/Centre, Alabama (KPYP)

Some of us are going over to Piedmont/Centre, Alabama Regional Airport (KPYP) this Saturday morning. We expect to arrive around 7:00 AM CENTRAL time and stay for a couple of hours. This airport is rarely used and makes a good place to practice crow-hops without interruption. If you are in the area, stop by and visit! You can find information about Piedmont/Centre here, including maps and directions.

2012-07-31 -- Another Saturday Morning At Cedartown (4A4)

The weekend approaches once again with excellent morning weather. The "usual suspects" will gather at the Cedartown Hangar in the morning. Expect Gary to commit aviation once again and possibly some more crow-hops from Trell. There is a high probability of a "Billy Gyro" sighting, if the wind happens to be blowing down from Tennessee. Guests are welcome.
